Tigersquawk Records artist Smouldering Embers of Aggression first invited you to “Let The Darkness Fall Over You”, and now asks: Can you escape: “The Void”? The sophomore release from this up and coming artist focuses on melding tribal and organic percussion on a solid foundation of witch house. This time around, Smouldering Embers of Aggression is joined by Durance Vile and Klubovader, each providing remixes, and with talented collaborator petraphi making their debut on keys. Mastering has been provided by the inimitable Scott Fox of iVardensphere fame.

Hailing from Victoria, British Columbia, Smouldering Embers of Aggression was founded by long-time electronic music fan James Porter in the rainy month of October, in the turbulent year 2020. Wanting to combine his favourite elements and influences from industrial, EBM, darkwave, and witch house, James composed his first release, “Let the Darkness Fall Over You” over the following year, releasing in October of 2021, complete with remixes from the likes of Assemblage 23, iVardensphere, and Gasoline Invertebrate. After quickly being brought aboard the Tigersquawk Record family, Smouldering Embers of Aggression appeared on several compilations, including “Squawk Jams”, “Tigersquawk vs. COP International”, “The Conjuring Universe Tribute”, “A Witchy Music Tribute to Siouxsie and the Banshees”, and “Aeternus Memoria: Honouring Those Affected by Cancer”, as well as providing a killer remix for Klubovader’s “Chokepoint Overdrive” release. Now, James personally invites you to experience his latest creation, “The Void”.
